Desert Voices guides families of children with hearing loss on their journeys to helping their child learn to listen and speak with the use of their hearing device.
Through each of our four programs - Parent Coaching, Jump Start, Toddler Class and Preschool, families will work together with a Teacher of the Deaf and/or Speech-Language Pathologist to learn more about their child’s hearing loss and strategies that they can use to develop their child’s oral language and early literacy skills. All programs are aimed at helping the children close the language gap that might exist between them and their typical hearing peers, gain self-advocacy skills, and prepare to mainstream into an education environment of the family’s choice.
